The Aud - being demolished in 2008 - 2009 to make way for a bass pro shop store.

I am very pleased and saddened at the same time to bring you the Aud the way it looks today. As of now, (March 2007) the Aud is closed to everyone. Asbestos removal is going on, and will take several months. After that, demolition should begin late in 2008, or early 2009. A bass pro shop will be built on the site of the old Aud. According to the owners of the Aud now, a memorial to the arena will be on site somewhere. A friend of mine got into the building and took these amazing photos. It is not pretty. The Aud has been abandoned since the Sabres left, and has been the victim of the ravages of winter and vandals. Please enjoy the Aud 2007. My special thanks goes out to Ryan for his outstanding photos of the interior. All the exterior shots of the Aud are mine from 2005.

An update... As of December 2008, the Aud is slowly being dismantled. The asbestos has been removed, and in January full demolition of the building should begin. I have found several new photos of the Aud as it looks now. They are at the end of this slideshow. 12-08
